“Old Bill” - the Boer War Commemorative Statue. First situated in Bond Gate, then moved to the Memorial Gardens back of the Museum, then to the embankment alongside the A444 Coventry Road where he looked across to the Parade Club.

Old Bill was stolen and melted down in 2006.

A spirited campaign led by Don Jacques raised enough money to have a replacement statue cast and in October 2008 Old Bill returned to Riversley Park, this time outside the Museum where he is under the constant eye of the CCTV cameras.
