A view of the play park that used to be in Riversley Park just past the Bandstand.  In the background you can see the railway embankment; to the right is the glass “tropical house” which had a banana tree and other assorted tropical plants, in the centre is the aviary and to the left the council’s greenhouses and sheds.

The River Anker and the boatmaster’s hut (right centre).  At one time you could hire rowing boats to row up and down the river as far as the Museum Bridge, after which you were in danger of going over the mill waterfall.
